Theatre Exploration Classes for Summer 2008
Since 1995 ATF has been the closest professional summer theater
for the Saratoga, Lake George, and Albany/Capital District
region of upstate New York presenting new and contemporary plays
and musicals. We bring the best writers, actors, and theater
artists from New York City and around the country to present a
season of live theater to the North Country. ATF’s commitment
to professional theatre extends to professionally run education
programs for the youth of our community. These theatre day
camps, led by our professional teaching artists have been held
each summer since ATF’s founding in 1995.

ATF extends its commitment to new plays to the youth of our
community. Based on ATF's innovative and critically acclaimed
in-school outreach program, this new summer program is designed
for teens with an interest in writing. Students will use
interviewing techniques to develop and write short plays based
on the those interviews. With living local legends as our
subjects in honor of the Glens Falls Centennial Celebration, the
resulting scripts will be given a public reading
featuring professional actors. This program not only focuses on
writing, but with the help of a professional journalist and
researchers, students will develop their interview and research
techniques. Space is limited to only 12 students.
All classes
will be held at the Charles R. Wood Theater in downtown Glens
Falls.
