The Adirondack Theatre Festival’s professional internship program offers intense, hands on educational opportunities for current students and early career professionals seeking an introduction to careers in the professional theatre. Our goal is to provide interns with practical experience in the shop, rehearsal room, backstage and in the front office as well as valuable networking opportunities with working theatre professionals.
Off-Season Internships: Fall/Winter/Spring
Part-Time/Arts Administration: Adirondack Theatre Festival seeks two part –time interns to support the Producing Artistic Director’s efforts at marketing, audience development, community engagement and fundraising. Tasks will be both clerical and creative. This internship is suitable not only for those interested in the business side of the arts, but also any non-profit administration career path.
Skills Requested: While job training will be provided, knowledge of the Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online search engines is preferred.
Time Commitment: Two days per week, four hours per day. This is a volunteer position. ATF is able to provide any necessary documentation for college credit arranged by the student/intern.

Please note, while interns are assigned specific departments and mentors, they are also expected to work outside their chosen area of expertise. We strive to provide each intern with a well-rounded experience designed to inform them of all the various jobs required to mount a professional production. As a small professional theatre, ATF offers our interns unique access to working professionals in all areas of the theatre. This networking experience happens throughout the internship, be it the work day, social gatherings or Inter Lunch (our brown bag series during which interns have lunch with visiting artists and are able to ask direct questions bout the business, training, etc.)
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
ATF Internships require a full-time commitment in Glens Falls, NY for May 26 – August 6, 2013. This is an intensive professionally-streamed internship. While best efforts are made to ensure that interns get time off, there are no regularly scheduled days off each week. There is no time for outside employment.
ATF interns are provided housing and a modest stipend of $200 at the conclusion of the commitment.
