The Adirondack Theatre Festival’s summer season of new and contemporary professional theater continues with a return to the region of Lisa Kron in 2.5 MINUTE RIDE.  Ms. Kron appeared in ATF’s very first season when she performed her show 101 HUMILIATING STORIES at the Lake George RV Park, and since then she and her work have been seen on Broadway, across the country, and around the world.

In 2.5 MINUTE RIDE Lisa Kron invites her audience on a roller coaster ride through the Kron family album. Rising and falling between high hilarity and deep disquiet, Kron demonstrates with disarming simplicity that humor and horror can share the same human moment. The play switches back and forth between Kron's journey to Auschwitz with her septuagenarian father, a Holocaust survivor; her Michigan family's annual pilgrimage to a Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park; and her brother's marriage to his Internet bride. By moving seamlessly between these three diverse memories, Kron creates a complex and at times startling meditation on how human beings make sense of tragedy, grief, and everyday life.   2.5 MINUTE RIDE runs for one week only July 9 –14 at 8 o’clock every night and should not be missed!

Don’t miss ATF’s first ever senior matinee on July 11 at 4pm.  All senior tickets are half-price.

Following each performance of 2.5 MINUTE RIDE, audiences are invited to stay for a fifteen minute presentation of the 365 PLAYS/365 DAYS.  This national project (www.365days365plays.com) which theaters were invited to take part in presents the short plays that Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan Lori Parks has been writing – one for each day of the year.  ATF Artistic Associate Brenny Rabine will direct these, with 2-4 short plays (none are longer than 5 minutes) being presented each night by a rotating cast of actors.  Admission is free and they will begin at 9:30pm.

The Adirondack Theatre Festival’s 13th season will run June 27 – July 28 at the Charles R. Wood Theater, 207 Glen St. in downtown Glens Falls. The Box Office is located at the Charles R. Wood Theater, 207 Glen Street in Glens Falls and is open 12-6pm MON-SAT.  Also call 518-798-WOOD or go to www.ATFestival.org.  $9 rush tickets are available to ages 23 and under the day of the show.
