ADIRONDACK THEATRE FESTIVAL
TO HOLD THIRD ANNUAL FALL BENEFIT

“NIGHT OF SECRETS”

 BACKSTAGE AT ADIRONDACK SCENIC, INC.
IN GLENS FALLS, MONDAY, OCTOBER 30
FROM 6-9pm.

Walk-ons in Broadway's RENT and Television's DAWSON'S CREEK to highlight evening's auction.

Adirondack Theatre Festival, the region’s six year old professional summer theatre, will be holding the third incarnation of one of the area's most unique fundraisers this fall.  This event will feature food and drink from Adirondack Community College's Culinary Department as well as some of the area’s top restaurants, live entertainment, and the opportunity to appear as a walk-on in a Broadway Show or a television show as part of the evening’s Critics Choice Auction.  All this will take place in the unique fabrication shop of Adirondack Scenic, Inc. a world-renowned scenery construction firm located in Glens Falls.

NIGHT OF SECRETS will take place, Monday, October 30 from 6-9pm at Adirondack Scenic, 20 Elm St. in Glens Falls.  Tickets are $35 each or $60/couple and can be ordered by calling 798-7479 or mailing checks to PO Box 3203, Glens Falls, NY 12801.  Patron tickets, whose names will be featured in that evening's programs, are also available for $50 per person.

NIGHT OF SECRETS will star food from the culinary students at Adirondack Community College who promise a wide variety of hors d'oeuvres, white glove service, ice sculptures, and more.  Refreshments will included hand-crafted ales from Davidson Bros., wine from Friends Lake Inn, and more.  The Adirondack Theatre Festival will feature two Broadway singers from New York City on their night off.  The highlight of the evening, as it was in 1998 and 1999, promises to be the Critics Choice Auction.  Bidding by silent auction will be held on theatre-related items including tickets to area theatres, touring Broadway shows and hard-to-get Broadway shows such as THE LION KING (including an exclusive backstage tour and opportunity to meet cast members), KISS ME KATE, and THE MUSIC MAN and a taping of the Rosie O’Donell Show.  The evening will conclude with a live auction of two walk-on roles: one in the hit Broadway musical RENT, and a visit for a parent and teenager to the set of WB TV's DAWSON'S CREEK in Wilmington, North Carolina.   The once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to appear on stage in a Broadway show was purchased last year by Glens Falls resident Anne Fuller who was cheered by a busload of fans from Glens Falls at the Nederlander Theatre last May.  The lucky bidder on RENT will appear in costume on stage for three musical numbers, say a line, have their biography in that performance’s Playbill, receive their own bow at the end of the show, and receive four tickets for family members in the audience.

The DAWSON'S CREEK visit is new to the auction this year, and has been arranged by actress Mary Beth Peil who appears in the show and starred in ATF's WIT last summer.  The high bidder will receive travel, two nights in a hotel, and a rental car for a weekend in Wilmington, NC where a parent and teenager will spend either a Friday or Monday on the set of DAWSON'S CREEK.  They will have an opportunity to meet the show's stars, obtain autographs, and watch filming for a day.  If there is a scene requiring extras being shot that day, the winning teenager will be included in that scene, although the filming schedule cannot guarantee this on-screen appearance.

Starting bids on both walk-ons will be $1250.  In an effort to accommodate the many requests received last year by bidders who cannot attend the event, arrangements can be made for remote bidding for the walk-ons by calling the Festival in advance.

NIGHT OF SECRETS is being presented by the Adirondack Theatre Festival’s Advisory Board, and chaired by Patty Malone Kircher, Jill Paltrowitz, and Gail Solomon in support of the Festival’s seventh season: June 20 - July 21, 2001.  Tickets are $35 each or $60/couple and can be ordered on Visa or MasterCard by calling 798-7479 or by mailing a check or credit card information to PO Box 3203, Glens Falls, NY 12801.  Information is also available at www.ATFestival.org.
