ADIRONDACK THEATRE FESTIVAL
7th ANNUAL WINTER BENEFIT

BROADWAY TAKES A HALL-IDAY

TO FEATURE PERFORMERS FROM BROADWAY PRODUCTIONS OF
‘THE FULL MONTY’, ‘KISS ME KATE’, AND 'BLUE MAN GROUP'
AT THE GLENS FALLS CIVIC CENTER'S HERITAGE HALL

Benefit on March 19, 2001 at 7pm continues the tradition of this annual sold-out event bringing Broadway performers to the North Country on their night off.  This year the Festival keeps its annual Winter Fundraiser in Glens Falls for the second year in a row by using Heritage Hall at the Glens Falls Civic Center

The Adirondack Theatre Festival’s annual Winter Benefit will again bring the best in Broadway talent to the North Country for a one-night fundraiser on Monday, March 19, 2001. "We're really excited about the talent who will be taking part in this year's benefit" says ATF Artistic Director Martha Banta.  "We've asked a wonderful Director, Michael Scheman, who is an old friend of the Festival and directed our LULLABY OF BROADWAY benefit in 1996, to put together the cast and he's contacted some terrific people.  THE FULL MONTY is the most praised new musical on Broadway in a long time (set in Buffalo, NY as opposed to the popular British film), so we're excited to have two cast members from that as well as a performer from KISS ME KATE which is currently the most popular revival."  The Festival will be installing lighting and sound equipment from Adirondack Scenic Inc. to make Heritage Hall into a temporary theater.  "We have had a really hard time finding a venue for the event this year" says ATF Producing Director David Turner.  "But Suzanna Bernd and her staff have been very receptive to us having the show there, so we're going to do our usual 'Just add water' routine and make a theater!"

BROADWAY TAKES A HALL-IDAY will feature the husband and wife performers James Ludwig and Lisa Datz.  Ms. Datz currently appears nightly as Pam Lukowski in THE FULL MONTY at the Eugene O'Neill Theater on Broadway.  Mr. Ludwig is currently appearing in a touring version of BLUE MAN GROUP, in which he also appeared in New York.  He  has a recurring role in ONE LIFE TO LIVE and appeared in the original New York production of JOHN & JEN (ATF 1996).  Also appearing will be Nancy Lemenager, currently in KISS ME KATE on Broadway and a veteran of the casts of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS..., GUYS AND DOLLS, and MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS on Broadway, and Liz McConahay who is currently in THE FULL MONTY and previously appeared in the National Tour of TITANIC.  Returning to Glens Falls will be the comic actor David Beach who starred in ATF's THE FAMILY BUSINESS (1998) and has appeared in HBO's THE SOPRANOS.

BROADWAY TAKES A HALL-IDAY will take place Monday, March 19 at 7:00pm.  Tickets are $35 and $50, the latter including priority reserved seating and a post-show champagne dessert reception with the cast at Davidson Brothers Restaurant. To order tickets call 518-798-7479 or mail check, money order, or VISA/MC number (with exp date) to ATF at PO Box 3202, Glens Falls, NY 12801.  Also check out ATF on the internet: www.ATFestival.org.
