News from ATF - Contact: 518-798-7478 or atf@atfestival.org June 8, 2000 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Special As
a huge THANK YOU to our Glens Falls and Warren County community, first
performance of Pulitzer-prize winning drama to be made available as
"Pay What You Can" The
Adirondack Theatre Festival will be making tickets available on a “Pay
What You Can” basis for the Preview performance of WIT on June 21 at
8:00pm. Any amount can be paid for a ticket at the door that evening
(regular prices $18), starting at 6:30pm on a first-come basis at the
Former Woolworths Store in Downtown Glens Falls.
No tickets will be sold before 6:30, and no advance reservations
can be made. ATF’s
production of WIT is one of the most anticipated plays in the region this
summer, and the Albany Times Union recently called the “ever
excellent” ATF the highlight cultural attraction of the Glens Falls/Lake
George region. WIT will star Mary Beth Peil of WB television’s Dawson’s
Creek. “It’s
very important to get a performance under the actors’ belts before the
opening night” says ATF Producing Director David Turner of this preview
performance. “It’s also a
great opportunity for us to say THANK YOU to the community and make
tickets available for anyone who might want to see a show but can’t
afford to pay for it.” “Pay
what you can” will not apply to previously purchased tickets, although
prime seating will be held for those who already have tickets for that
evening. The
Adirondack Theatre Festival’s sixth season will run June 21 – July 22,
all performances (except Cabarets) at the Former Woolworths Store, 217
Glen St. in Downtown Glens Falls. Tickets
are $6 - $18 and can be ordered by calling 798-7479, mailing checks to ATF, PO Box 3203, Glens Falls, NY 12801, or going to www. ATFestival.org. |
