Adirondack Theatre Festival is a professional not-for-profit summer theatre located in Glens Falls, NY. ATF strives to challenge, entertain, and nourish its audience through the development and production of new and contemporary musicals and plays. Each summer ATF produces a nine-week season of theatre with professional artists from New York City and across the country.
ATF’s professional internship program offers rigorous, hands-on educational opportunities for current students and early career professionals seeking an introduction to careers in the professional theatre. Our goal is to provide interns with practical experience in the shop, rehearsal room, backstage and in the front office as well as valuable networking opportunities with working theatre professionals.
Internships are available in the following departments:
Administration: box office/front of house, marketing, development, company management
Artistic: literary management/creative producing
Production Assistants: assistants to the stage managers
In addition to the departments above, interns may have the opportunity to audition for chorus roles in the summer season. These opportunities vary depending on season selection, rehearsal/performance scheduling, and various other considerations.
Please note: while interns are assigned specific departments and mentors, they are also expected to learn and work outside their chosen area of expertise. We hope to provide the intern with a well-rounded experience designed to inform them of all the various jobs required to mount a professional production.
Interns may opt to receive either course credit or a weekly stipend. Although internships are generally a full-time commitment, it is often possible to balance an internship with a summer class or a part-time job. Applicants should specify any potential scheduling conflicts in their application. ATF strives to make its internship program accessible to all qualified candidates.
